Met Police (A)

Post by PSG55 »

Am over for a few games this Christmas period and this was the first of them. To say I was a little shocked at how poor it was is an understatement.

The last game I was in the UK for was Epsom & Ewell away. Back then we looked to have the germ of a decent side. Winning games comfortably and some decent players whom looked like they were starting to gel. This time a very different story and a side that looks like it's barely played together before.

I thought the front three looked decent. Clifton, Hippolyte and Hinds all seemed to be busy but the service not always the best. I thought Jude Mason looked useful too, given he's been out for so long. But he clearly needs time to get match fit again.

What I will say is the defence, as a whole, looked vulnerable whenever Plod went forward. I seriously think it needs to be a back five rather than four. I'd have to question the keeper too - seems to like spending a lot of time a long way out of his goal and looked susceptible to being lobbed / beaten from range on a few occasions.

The midfield was pretty lightweight at best. Adam Martin's ball retention was poor. Comley looks like he could be a good player but appeared to be trying to do a hell of a lot on his own at times. Bangura playing in midfield but isn't he a full-back / wing-back? Ironically, the only good cross I can remember us putting in the box all game was Keano Robinson in the second half. Yet he's a centre-half.

Sorry to be negative, and it could just be a one off, but got to call it as I saw it. Hoping for much better at Harrow on Boxing Day. On the plus side, the Guinness was quite good in the bar at Imber Court. That's about it though.

Thanks, here's hoping for an improvement over the remaining festive fixtures, sparked by the return of Amos Nasha!

Think in general the defence has been relatively decent. The first 2 goals straight through the heart of the midfield.
Third poor marking after initial clearance and fourth just individual errors. We’ve played a lot worse than that and got something out of games. 2-1 dominated the game for 15minutes and missed numerous chances but always looked vulnerable to counter attack. One of those games I guess. Was much better than the second half at Hanworth Villa where we was outplayed out fought and no real idea of how to break down a organised defence.
