The remaining fixtures

Post by Churchroadtilidie »

I know that our hopes of survival are fast diminishing yet while there is hope it is worth looking at who our rivals have left to play. I'm leaving out Plymouth Parkway from this scenario due to their number of matches.

TIVERTON: 6 games remaining.

HOME - Gosport, Chesham, Dorchester, Winchester, Sholing.
AWAY - Harrow.

SHOLING: 6 games remaining.

HOME - Dorchester, Hendon, Swindon.
AWAY - Walton, Hanwell, Tiverton.

POOLE: 5 games remaining.

HOME - Winchester, Beaconsfield, Plymouth, Didcot.
AWAY - Walton.

HANWELL: 5 games remaining.

HOME - Hungerford, Sholing, Plymouth.
AWAY - Dorchester, Salisbury.

SWINDON: 3 games remaining.

HOME - Basingstoke, Winchester.
AWAY - Sholing.

Nice post Churchroadtilidie.

For me, I think you could go from us at the bottom-end, all the way up to Beaconsfield who I think are still just about on offer given the number of games they've played. Harrow are just about done so a lot to play for in that big group.

I think Swindon would be fearing relegation the most. Only three to play and a vastly inferior goal difference.

Tiverton with some tough games (as have we) but I'd say Sholing have the most comfortable run-in. All winnable games for them and still six to go.

One thing is for sure, we HAVE to win tomorrow night to stand any real chance. I have thought for a while that it may come down to the final day at Bracknell and hoping for other teams to do us a favour, but I think we'll need at least 2-3 more wins to be in with a shout.

I think the main negative (aside from our inability to score or even create in recent games) is that both Poole and Tiverton have the majority of their games at home.

Tomorrow night is an absolute must win. A scruffy 1-0 with a goal off someone's backside from a yard out would never be more welcome.

Hayes have got themselves into this mess and it is down to them to get out of it. They can only concentrate on the games they are due to play and not worry/rely on others.

A must win game tonight and I agree it doesn’t matter how goals are scored someone must step up and do the business. The only thing in our favour is goal difference and we all know if it comes down to that then it can be worth an extra point.

Let’s hope another run can start tonight and stay undefeated until the end of the season.
