As a goalscorer, he’s undoubtedly a big loss. Seemed to know where the goal was. But could he be relied on stay fit? From what I see, people had that conflict of feeling towards him.

What I will say is that other clubs in our division seem to be signing very good quality players for this level. We’re going to need a good side to compete.

Sam Ashton has to be one of the most unluckiest players regarding injuries. Not just small but injuries that keep him sidelined for lengthy spells. Goal return and the strikers knack to be in the right place at the right time is an extinct that few players have!!

We’ve been seriously lacking in the forward department for a few seasons now. I don’t think there was a natural finisher in the team last year, Sippetts maybe the closest but lacks the physical presence to dominate central defenders. Hinds is a very good player but failed to deliver the number of goals his ability warrants, maybe playing off the right or left wing hinders his goal return. Brendan Matthew scored a few goals towards the end of the season in a side that was struggling to create chances.

Two proven goals scorers at this level are required if we are to be competitive this season.
