I'm following from afar so I can't be critical of the way we're playing etc. But the general consensus from fans on social media is that our performances in the last 1-2 months have been pretty dire.
Our recent record speaks for itself. By my counting, we've won three games in the last 13 (or four if you count penalties against Potters Bar) in all competitions. We've also won only 2 games away from home (Hanworth & Kingstonian, again if you don't count penalties at Potters Bar). For a team that was supposed to be challenging at the top, they're damning stats. We've now lost 7 in the league and have a -7 goal difference. And we haven't managed a single goal in the last 4, whilst conceding 11.
Do people feel it's the players not being good enough? Or is it how we're set up to play by the management? Clearly one or the other has to change.
Our last home crowd dipped below 200 again which was sad to see, after a sustained period of topping that figure. But if our form doesn't pick up, this won't improve.
Positively, we're only a point from the playoffs. But we had enough credit in the bank from earlier in the season.

It’s dire a present, I’ve been in Australia since mid November so the more recent performances I can’t comment on. In contact with mix of the fans and they saying it’s time to go.
I’d agree it’s time, don’t think Dev should be crucified to much on this decision because a lot of the fans me included thought Simon deserved his chance due to his communication and run of form towards the end of last season with Andy Leese maybe in hindsight we kept the wrong man!! Continuity probably a main factor, but away form all season as been absolute catastrophe bar the kingstonian game which was a solid performance. 1-0 win at Hanworth was a smash and grab MoM Watkins and they missed at least 6/7 decent chances.
Westfield was a a joke from start to finish, but came from no where though the game before against NGU in the cup was just as dire so benefit of the doubt home form was decent so give him time to find a solution away from home. Bognor away was agin a disaster, ht changes just stopped the goals going in never looked a threat. Egham against 10 men did nothing and replaced the best attacking player on the pitch in a United shirt. Recent signing of Flaherty more a fan pleaser than what we need as a side, I’m sure his philosophy is to out score teams week in week out but defensively we are a shambles. Even Sippets is not what we need defence hampers selection because it’s so poor!!!
Loss of Keano and Richmond seems a monumental error only the club know the reason for their departures.
Thin there is only 2/3 players he’s recruited have been better than we had last season. Aaron Watkins, Noah Hay, Remi Onabanjo maybe Louis Rogers in comparison to Adam Martin and James Comley.
How we just outside the play offs is a positive, shows you how evenly matched the league is bar Leatherhead/Westfield. We carry on it current form we could be another relegation battle.
Think the decision on Simons future probably needs to be made before Xmas??

Agree with these posts. Firstly appointing the number 2 to manager has always proved disastrous. Recent club history has shown this to be the case.
Secondly the defence has been shaky since day one. There has been two many soft goals conceded, how can we be so high in the league with such a poor goal difference.
Thirdly at front we lack a strong forward who can compete with large centre backs and be able to hold the ball up. Our front players are quick but small and with ball being hoofed up the pitch they get out muscled and possession is lost. Any cross into the opponent’s box is easily cleared this has been the case all season
Fourthly the team recruitment during pre season was poor this has been the case for a few seasons now. After a few games the starting line up is vastly different from game one. Too many poor loan players brought in who are given game time and disappear shortly afterwards only to be replaced by another loanee.
It’s not all doom and gloom we are probably in a bit of a false position in the league but Hayes should take advantage of this. Tighten up at the back and try and recruit a large mobile forward. I really thought we had turned a corner after the Binfield game but it’s been down hill ever since

Well I guess we have our answer. Wish Simon all the best for the future - a thoroughly likable guy and conducted himself well. But it's clear from the opinions of many match-going fans that the change had to be made.
I'm guessing Delroy will be in charge tomorrow against Ascot?
Sounds like Dev and the board have someone in mind to replace Simon already (you'd assume they wouldn't have dispensed with Simon's services unless that was the case). Will be interesting to see who it is. Josh Gallagher perhaps a shout? Just off the top of my head. Did a great job at Raynes Park.

Shame it didn’t work out for him, a very nice guy, maybe too nice? Steve Baker available, just a thought. Another change to the music for the Players walk out I’m guessing……. Ready for the Christmas songs Tuesday then?

Aaah, I hoped Simon would turn it around. As everyone says, seems like a thoroughly good person and he was clearly committed to the club unlike some others we could mention (cough, cough, MM).
Still, results being what they were, credit to Dev for taking action to ensure we're in the playoffs at the end of the season.
Thanks to Simon and good luck to whoever's next in the hot seat.

Set adrift battered by wind tides and currents. On a rudderless ship & with no one willing to stoke the engine , I suppose the helmsman must be the one to go.
Hayes and Yeading a film studios with a small football club attached.
