Word from the man in the know at the SKYex is that the pitch is in excellent condition and today's game is ON.

See you all there later this afternoon.

Just watched the highlights.

That 2nd yellow card for Omar Rowe is absolutely shocking. The Totton player goes in with his foot off the ground at about ankle height. Avoiding a broken ankle is now second yellow now?

Seen some shocking decisions, but that must be among the worst ever. I think the Totton player says no initially in the hope that the ref does not give him a straight red for endangering an opponent.

I know we are all biased but the league ought to take a serious look at that. Scandalously bad judgement.

Wasn’t much in the game to be honest, they had plenty of possession but didn’t really create anything clear cut.

The second yellow for Omar is a shocker for me simulation it’s a joke, first few minutes Totton player wasn’t touched but threw himself on the floor so consistency is a major problem.
Even Omar first yellow is debatable, strong blocking challenge played all of the ball, Totton players reactions caused the ref to produce a yellow.
The refereeing at home this season has been some of the poorest I’ve seen for a few years, maybe the Middlesex fa want the games to be referred in this way?

Turning point in the game was the howler from Jacob Adams nothing more than a speculative long range effort. Has to do better, been few mistakes creeping into his game after a solid start to the season.

Can’t fault the effort this week, got in amongst them but they always seemed to have an out ball in midfield, in the wide areas they managed to get 2v1 against both our full backs more than once. Again we struggled to create very much in the final third, albeit against a well organised side. There is not a lot between the top and bottom sides this year. Referees decisions are proving to be a big part of results this season.

Hope we can put an end to the back to back defeats in Wales this Saturday.

U hayesssssss

Another lack lustre display yesterday. It was slightly better than Tuesday night but was still a very poor performance. The lack of any efforts on goal said it all. One shot on target if you could call it a shot, one shot that went wide and a corner which their keeper nearly punched into his own net summed up Hayes efforts on goal yesterday. Ayo was totally isolated up front. There was no support for him. Hayes played so defensively putting all the players behind the ball and played one striker at home a bloody disgrace. Hayes were at home not away trying to play for a point. Bettamer was brought on late on in the game and had little chance to make any effect a total waste of a good player.

I can’t understand why Hayes have everyone in their box defending corners, why not leave two up top at least that will make the opposition leave some back. Last week Beaconsfield left three up top and scored their second straight after clearing a corner. Hayes played so negatively yesterday if they cleared a corner it came straight back. If you want to pack the box at corners you need to break out at pace. Unfortunately pace is is lacking in the side this year.

The goal was unfortunate Adams got a weak hand to a shot going into the top left hand corner. He did well to get there but was unfortunate to push the ball lamely into the net. On another day he would prevented a goal and added to his collection of great saves this year. My only concern with him is his distribution. This is something both he and the coaches need to work on. Too often he kicks the ball into touch or straight to the opposition.

What I find really hard to understand why Amos is not playing. In my opinion he is a far better midfielder than those that started yesterday. Yet again he doesn’t get on. Hayes play far better when he and Sami play. The team is more solid and allows the forwards and attacking midfielders a chance to play.

Red army mentions the refereeing standards and the last few have been really poor. Hayes players are getting silly bookings for minor indiscretions yet the opposition do the same or worse and no action is taken. It is not just them the assistant referees are worse. They are totally oblivious too what goes on right in front on them and ignore it.

Yesterday Omar was sent off for two yellow cards both were very harsh. The first yellow was a disgrace Omar and a Totton player go in for a 50/50 tackle at pace. You heard the thump of both players connecting with the ball and the Totton player goes down screaming, Omar gets up. The ref is clearly influenced by the screaming and gives Omar a totally unjustified yellow. Perhaps if Omar had stayed down and started screaming this may have put some doubt in the refs mind. This happens time and time again refs are being conned. By Omar being honest and getting up the ref is influenced by the screaming and thinks something serious has occurred. The official closest to the incident was the assistant ref who could have cleared what had happened but as usual did sod all. Omar was really stupid for the second yellow. Knowing that the ref was really was card happy he received a stupid second yellow. Making a strong run at pace towards their goal he is clipped but goes down theatrically with the ref believing that he has been conned produces the second yellow and subsequent red card. It is so frustrating with these officials ruining the game week after week especially with Hayes on the receiving end of their idiotic decisions.

The last two games have been so disappointing with really very poor performances. This time last week everything was looking really rosy. If we had won these two games this week, there would have been serious distance from the drop zone and a chance to make the play offs. Now we find ourselves five points off the drop zone and in trouble once again. Teams below us have games in hand and we could drop further down the table and back into real trouble again very quickly.

Mark Molesey is in charge of this mess and needs to turn things around again very quickly. With a very tough run in Hayes do not want to be fighting in a relegation battle. Ensure safety then prepare for next season.

I think that the referee was very deserving of being Totton's man of the match. He gave us nothing at all in the game and influenced the game massively by sending Omar off for two very debatable yellow cards.

The goal was clearly down to Jacob and to be honest he is starting to worry me a little. His kicking was largely abysmal and his confidence at set pieces looks to be diminished.

My main question with our tactics are why do we persist playing a left footed player (Ngunga) on the right with a right footed player (Hagen) on the left. It is painfully obvious that this does not work. We look so disjointed especially with a right footed player at left back. Whether we are able to get Kinsella back from Maidenhead is unclear but if he did re-sign then it would allow the admirably consistent Paul Field to play at right back with Cole Brown perhaps moving further forward.

I worry that Steve looks tired as he had almost no impact in the last couple of games whilst Hagen was unable to utilise his pace on the rare occasions he found himself one on one against the Totton full back. Ngunga does not provide enough protection for Cole which gave the Totton left back so much space to gallop into.

It is equally puzzling that Amos does not even get on particularly when Omar was sent off. I understand that Okoh and Dunne are on loan so they may be pressure for them to play from their parent clubs but then this logic is not being applied with Braney. We need Sammi or Amos in the midfield every week particularly in a relegation battle. It will be great to have Ronan Silva back at Merthyr as he has been an influential player since his arrival earlier in the season.

We still have 5 of our remaining games against teams in the top 4 which worries me greatly. We need another 10-12 points minimum in my opinion and the home games with Basingstoke, Swindon and Dorchester are absolutely vital.

Was listening to the game on Twitter courtesy of AFC Totton's live feed and one thing that struck me was how shocked they were that we didn't pressure the ball when 0-1 down. The commentators seemed amazed that their defence were allowed time on the ball in their own half and nobody was pressing. From what I can gather from the above posts, we seemed to stick 10 men behind the ball?

As Churchroadtilidie says, the run in is very tough. That said, we seem to be producing against teams in the top half of the table of late. But I'd add Plymouth Parkway to the list of games we need to be looking at winning, along with Basingstoke, Swindon and Dorchester. Make no mistake, we are right back in trouble after the last two games. Hopefully Hanwell v Plymouth and Tiverton v Dorchester can all take points off each other tomorrow night. A draw in both of those would be good results for us.
