Very good result after the disappointing result against Rayners Lane the previous week.
Very good performance against the best team in the league. Never really looked like losing the game from the very first minute.
Started well energy and enthusiasm to a decent level. Key for us was possession, much better on the ball, going forward was sharp in and around the box and men filling the box which sometimes we fail to do. Half chance for Sippetts just wide from a bicycle kick. Set piece was the route to goal for the opening goal, Jude Mason in swinging cross had the keeper interested but was beaten to the ball by the flicked header of Tyler Hayles. Stood form giving up 2 headers from crosses. Ht 1-0
Wasn’t much goal mouth action, Amos Nasha effort over the bar. Farnham came close cross found Jack Dean at the back post, his chest and half volley turned away by goalkeeper Juliusz Pazio diving low to his right. A combination of passes on the edge of the box, Tyler Hayles slipped the offside trap and with the angle ever tightening, thundered a left footed strike over the keeper and high into the roof of the Farnham goal, for a deserved 2-0 lead. Farnham kept at it, and forced Juliusz into another fine save when Cooksley should have done better. Late Farnham consolation in added time with a well worked goal. Ft 2-1
Credit to the management team, in the reverse fixture not so long ago, we struggled to deal with the wide areas of the Farnham attack, constant overloads led to our downfall. Tactically spot on and application of the players in work rate and commitment was first class.
Play off push back on with 4 games to go, performance levels like that will see us go pretty close I think.
