Have to say, I was a little surprised at the result last night. Having read the reports from Saturday's game and comments of fans on here and Facebook, it really sounded like we may have turned a corner in the 2nd half against RPV. Last night, it sounds like we were lucky to get away with a point against the bottom side who have won one league game?
Another crowd below 200 too which is a bit concerning. If you look at our average against other teams in the league on FWP, we're quite a way down.
Not meant to come across as a negative post. I mean we're still in touching distance of the playoffs with a game in hand on some. We're not losing games. But, from afar, we seem to be drawing too many, out of the cups very early and we should really surely be competing much more effectively at this level of football? But most fans seem to be of the opinions that our performances are simply not consistent enough. Is it the players? The managers (do we need two?)?
I remember our last sojourn at this level and we started in a very average way under Paul Hughes before we found momentum around November time with some good signings like Scott Donnelly, Duncan Culley et al. We then stormed it the following season after missing out in the playoffs. I hope we can do something similar again this time around. For me, anything less than a playoff place at this level has to be deemed a big failure.
