Another lack lustre second half performance. Don’t think anybody in attendance today can dispute the result. Don’t seem to learn from our mistakes, conceded the same goal for the equaliser and another long ball for their winner. Second half in numerous home games now we don’t show up.

Early chance for the home side Wraynel Hercules breaking into the box from the left, saved low to the left from Liam Allen. Bradley in on the left cut back to Reuben Duncan snap shot high and wide. Adrian Clifton wins the ball high on the right, drives into the box laid back, Hinds hits the far post but Hani Berchiche steers the rebound home. Eddie Simon shot cleared off the line by Will Salmon. Ht 1-0

Golden chance spurned early on for the away side, low cross from Eddie Simon scuffed wide by Bradley Wilson. Hayes corner cleared counter attack from Kingstonian Bradley Wilson to substitute Palace Francis low strike beats Juliusz Pazio at the near post. Jordan Ibe
goes close outside of the right foot just wide from just inside the penalty box. Bradley Wilson brings a smart save out of juliusz Pazio low to his left. Long ball into the Hayes half, low cross by Bradley Wilson, scramble in the area forced home by Eddie Simon. Late chance Jordan Ibe side netting.
Hippolyte late chance blazed over.

Mom Hani Berchiche good to have him back worked tirelessly and tried to drive us forward from the middle of the park.

Early in the season played with a back four, now reverted to back 3 and it seems we are all over the place severe lack of pace at the back, kingstonian constant attacks behind the wing backs, Cole Brown facing 2/3 men at times.
Berchiche and Kawimbe seemed to be constantly outnumbered in the middle. Second balls another issue after we hit the ball long never seem to be close enough to pick anything up.

Final third seems to be played off the cuff, Jordan Ibe keeping the ball longer then needed, Adrian Clifton feeding of scraps and not as effective as earlier in the season, we look better when we move the ball quicker through the pitch but it seems so lacking in tempo so far. Gaby Piorkowski not even in the 15.

14 games in and still work in progress, was expecting a up and down start to the season but to watch a rinse and repeat of every game and nothing changes is baffling to me.
Andy’s interviews seem to be the same after every performance.
Feel we are going to have indifferent season if we don’t start competing for every ball, constantly hear all players are step 3 but makes no difference if u don’t win individual battles on match days.
Still early but is it about this stage of the season we should see an identity of playing and some consistency in performances???

A pretty fair assessment to be honest. Let me add my two-penneth.

Jordon Ibe had a gilt-edged chance at 1-1 which he poked wide of the post and Clifton was unlucky to see his shot saved just before their winner. Aside from that (and perhaps an early chance for Hercules) I don't really remember us looking like scoring.

Kingstonian will dominate possession in most games (as Walton & Hersham did last season) so I don't have a particular problem with them having more of the ball but we don't seem to have a recognisable pattern of play when in possession. I understand that Adam Martin and Gabby were both missing yesterday and they are two of our more combative midfielders but the formation itself seems odd to say the least. Surely Jack Williams is fit enough to start as an orthodox left back otherwise it would be pointless having him on the bench. We started the season with a 4-3-3 formation with Hippolyte and Hercules playing wide in attack but seemingly in order to accommodate a plethora of central defenders we have switched to a back three.

Would it be worth playing Keano as a right back alongside Richmond, Salmon and Williams (or Mason if he were fit) as this would allow Cole Brown to play more advanced? Hippolyte seems to have fallen out of favour somewhat whilst I am concerned Rocky Williams will soon move on if he is not given more minutes.

The other concern is that we have so many players on either loan or dual registration. Hinds, Alves, Kiwimbe, Piorkowski to name but four. Are we too reliant on players who could be recalled by their parent club which would leave us short of numbers and is there an expectation that these players will play instead of our own players irrespective of form?

Unlike some supporters I don't see a lack of effort or application but we have to recognise that our all round play has not been good enough against certain teams who probably won't be challenging at the top end of the table. Some fans also have to grasp that this is not an easy league and we do not have the same quality of player we had three seasons ago when we should have got promoted to the National League South.

Kingstonian the better side especially in the second half but no reason why we couldn't have taken a point if we'd just taken one of a few good chances.
