Badshot Lea (H)

Post by PSG55 »

Have to say, I was a little surprised at the result last night. Having read the reports from Saturday's game and comments of fans on here and Facebook, it really sounded like we may have turned a corner in the 2nd half against RPV. Last night, it sounds like we were lucky to get away with a point against the bottom side who have won one league game?

Another crowd below 200 too which is a bit concerning. If you look at our average against other teams in the league on FWP, we're quite a way down.

Not meant to come across as a negative post. I mean we're still in touching distance of the playoffs with a game in hand on some. We're not losing games. But, from afar, we seem to be drawing too many, out of the cups very early and we should really surely be competing much more effectively at this level of football? But most fans seem to be of the opinions that our performances are simply not consistent enough. Is it the players? The managers (do we need two?)?

I remember our last sojourn at this level and we started in a very average way under Paul Hughes before we found momentum around November time with some good signings like Scott Donnelly, Duncan Culley et al. We then stormed it the following season after missing out in the playoffs. I hope we can do something similar again this time around. For me, anything less than a playoff place at this level has to be deemed a big failure.

After Saturdays second half only performance was looking forward to Tuesday.
Once again served up a performance that has been on par for the season to date.
Give credit to Badshot young side, tried to play football at every opportunity. Thought they a decent side a this will give them a boost in confidence
It’s a much changed Badshot squad from the opening day so maybe look at their next 4/5 results and see if this was a one off performance or we ran into a side on the up.

We never seem to have any control in games, no one gets on the ball and sets a tempo. In a majority of games this season i am sure we have less possession than our opponents.
Is the tactic to sit deep and hit on a counter attack???
Pass round the back then whack it long in hope is the go to. Defence seems vulnerable to pace in the wide areas and we concede plenty of goals from low crosses.

Options in central midfield are non existent!!!! Hani was poor when given his opportunity after a bright start to the season. Adam Martin is first choice but lacks mobility in midfield. Herson Alves seems to be plaster in there we tried every other option, he’s done ok but don’t think he is a centre midfielder. Gaby disappeared over the last month or so dual registration somewhere I believe. Not sure what Rocky Williams position is and looks unfit in games when he comes on.
For me no natural right back at the club. Keano isn’t and after Tuesday Will Salmon isn’t either. Wranyel is not a defensive wing back or right back.

How the now departed Cole Brown can’t get in this team is a mystery?
I’m not sure I understand the comments from the managers, we did every thing to keep him when we don’t pick him week in week out. Too good for this level and a real bonus he stayed, now stepping up a level with Cherstey. Why would you stay watching from the bench!!!

Think it’s too early to question the management but Xmas on the horizon. Still little sign of consistency in performances, so at what point in the season would you expect to see us attain a decent and consistent level of performance??

Plenty of work to do in a month with so many points up for grabs.
Like psg says not all doom and gloom still staying in touch for the play offs when struggling for consistency.
