Horndean (H)

Post by Red army »

I would say this was the best near complete performance since Southall way back in August. Been flashes in other games but this was fairly solid throughout.

Horndean started brightly dragging a shot wide in the opening minutes. In response Jack Williams down the left in swinging cross met by Adrian Clifton just wide with the rather rotund goalkeeper struggling to get down to save it. Kaylen Hinds pulling a shot wide from the edge of the box.
Will Salmon sloppy pass in midfield intercepted and first time pass sets the Horndean forward through on goal, left footed lifted over Juliusz but luckily for us inches over. They pass the ultimate price, Keano Robinson cross toward the back post, Hippolyte in front of the defender and pulled back in the referees opinion penalty given, real soft one was my initial thought. Adrian Clifton in his leisurely style sends the keeper the wrong way. Second came 13 minutes later, Will Salmon long ball over the right full backs head, Jonathan Hippolyte cushions a header into his own path and right footed slides under the keeper. Few half chances for both sides but nothing clear cut. Horndean lots of possession but crosses dealt with by a dominant James Richmond. Ht 2-0

Once again out of the blocks quickly, Keano Robinson on a foray forward powerful run only the chest of a defender stopping his goal bound shot. Deep cross finds its way to Kaylen Hinds, couple of touches inside the area and hitting a curling right footed effort past the unsighted keeper. Juliusz double save midway through the second half, low shot from the edge of the box, smart save down to his left, then upto to smother the rebound at the base of the post. Few long range efforts from Horndean but off target. Still plenty of possession but defensively we were pretty comfortable in all they had to offer. Adrian Clifton holding the ball up 30yds from goal, under pressure managed to steer the ball into the ever willing run of Wranyel Hercules burst into the area tap past the keeper and rolls the ball across the 6yd box for Kaylen Hinds to tap into a empty net. Horndean also hit the post late on with Jordan Ibe hesitant at the back post, opponent takes advantage and stabs a ball towards goal but back off the post and cleared away. Ft 4-0

Mom few contenders Kaylen, James Richmond, Wranyel but Adrian Clifton is a key component for us. Physicality troubled the centre backs all game never had free header. Hold up play was first class. When Adrian plays well we look dangerous going forward.
Herson Alves playing in midfield put a real shift in and last few games has been decent. Good to see Hippolyte on the scoresheet, not been the same since his blistering start to the season out of sorts since he got injured and limited playing time.
Jordan Ibe 15 minutes was rather disappointing looked miles of the pace caught in possession and gave the ball away on numerous occasions.
Overall decent day at the office last 15 minutes was a bit ragged, substitutions seem to unsettle us a bit not the first time this season either.

Big game against an in form Uxbridge up next hopefully another performance of this quality should make for an entertaining game.
