Hillingdon Borough

Post by PSG55 »

Sad to see them announce they're resigning from the CCL at the end of this season.

What with them resigning from the league, Hashtag United applying for voluntary relegation from the Isthmian Premier and a petition finally in for the winding up of the old Staines Town FC with Companies House (or so I read), I hope it doesn't become a trend.

Sorry to hear of the demise of one of the historic names in local non-league football but I see their owner retains the rights to "Hillingdon Borough" so maybe we'll see a revival at some point much as happened in 1990. For a while, Hayes and Hillingdon Borough were the two West London kings of non-league football. It just takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears, not to mention the money, to keep a club like that, and ours, going.

Elsewhere, Wealdstone have a new majority shareholder: https://www.wealdstone-fc.com/post/stat ... hareholder

Very sad to hear this. Hillingdon Borough were the first team I ever watched and supported as a kid before switching to Hayes. I remember the likes of Johnny Cozens and Jim Langley, showing my age here. Watched them in the FA Trophy final at Wembley in 1972 or thereabouts, lost 3-2 to Telford. Great memories of what was a big non league club then.
