Re: Ashford Town (H)

Hmmm yes, I think we’re all pretty much seeing the same thing. Bangura at left back looked like a strong addition to the side and Clifton continues to look a class above most of the rest of the players on the pitch. I’ve been impressed with Hippolyte out wide, running at defenders with the ball at h...

Re: One for old Hayes fans...

Ah yes, not sure if it's rose tinted glasses looking back but Jon Brady as one wing-back and Lee Flynn as the other, great times with great football. Both able to defend, as well as terrorise the opponents driving forward, wide, with the ball. The only problem is that he's frozen in my mind with tho...

Re: Mark Molesley

While the timing and apparent nature of his departure from H&Y still rankles, I'm sorry to see MM's demise at Weymouth. Clearly, the time had come, possibly a while back, for him to go. Hopefully he can reset, maybe get a lower profile job in football elsewhere and rekindle his success of previo...

Re: Ascot United (A)

Insightful, thanks. I'd noticed the problem of teams "overloading" down one side and whoever is playing (usually right) full-back being left torn between challenging the player with the ball or his teammate about to receive the ball. A central defender can come across but that just leaves ...

Re: Guernsey (A)

Thanks for the excellent report as usual. An away win with all that travel on the morning of the match has to be positive and it sounds like the fans who crossed the sea were in fine form too so well done to all concerned. It's a difficult one to call this year. We're not going to win the league but...

Re: Guernsey away, match preview

Probably the best preview of the season with those travel directions.

Well done to all those making, or who have already made, the journey!

Re: Mark Molesley

Just to clarify, no, most certainly NOT asking for MM back! :o

At the time he returned last season I thought it a good chance to turn around our season, but, well, it it did turn it wasn't in the right direction.

Re: Mark Molesley

It's a shame really. Mark came through the Hayes FEDO youth setup, played some great games in the first team then went on to bigger and better things. All you could ask for really, very much "one of our own". Then he's back as manager and despite a patchy record in that role I was excited ...
